The Son of Man Must Text: Luke 24:7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.Introduction: Easter is a time we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. This is what sets Christianity apart from every other religion. Easter did not begin as a Christian holiday. It is a holiday of Estra, the goddess of spring. In the eight-century Christians adopted the name as the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ. The birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ were executed plans of God. The imperative word ‘dei’ "must" is used over 100 times in the New Testament. The word "dei" refers to Jesus accomplishing the will of His father. The word is also used in connection with the saints delivering the gospel. God has a plan and is active in accomplishing that plan. In our text we see that he must suffer, die, and rise again.
