37 THE
PURPOSE OF THE CANDLESTICK It
was for the purpose of giving light to the Holy Place. There was no other source
of light and there was no window. The
only LIGHT we have to God is through Jesus. He gives light: ON SIN---He
Convicts, condemns, and converts. ON
SALVATION--Salvation is of the Lord. ON
SECURITY--He that HATH the Son hath life. ON
SEPARATION--He will guide and lead. THE
PRICE OF THE CANDLESTICK (Vs 17-24) This
candlestick cost much Gold and sacrifice. The LIGHT we have cost a tremendous
price It Cost God His Son. It Cost Christ His Life. They took the Gold and beat
and molded it to make the lamp stand. Jesus was scourged and He suffered that He
might become the LIGHT OF THE WORLD. The Light that now shines into this Dark
world cost much. THE
POSITION OF THE CANDLESTICK The Candlestick was in a position that it could shed
light for the Holy Place. It was by this light that the Priest minister
and perform his duties. If there was no
light there could be no duty. Jesus is our LIGHT and LIFE and WITHOUT HIM Because
of the Light the Priest could minister on: THE
TABLE--This is the place of the Bread. Today He must shed light upon the True
Bread. To be able to understand the Word there must be the Witness
of the Holy Spirit. THE ALTAR OF INCENSE--A picture of Prayer.
This Light was never to go out. |
