In Acts 2: 1-4, the Spirit came and will leave when the church leaves

I. His Name -Holy Ghost
-3rd Person in Trinity

A. Distinct Person -as a person He is:

1. Intelligent (I Corinthians 12:8)
2. Possesses a will (I Corinthians 12:13)
3. Has knowledge (I Corinthians 2:10-12)
4. Exercises love (Romans 15:30)
5. Has feelings (Ephesians 4:30)
6. Is resisted (Acts 7:51)
7. Spoke evil of (Mark 3:29-30)


B. Duties of Spirit

1. Speaks (Acts 13:2)
2. Intercedes (Romans 8:26)
3. Testifies (John 15:26)
4. Commands (Acts 16:6-7)
5. Oversees (Acts 20:28)
6. Guides (John 16:13)
7. Teaches (John 14:26)

C. Deity of Spirit

1. He is omnipotent (Luke 1:35)
2. He is omniscient (I Corinthians 2:10)
3. He is omnipresent (psalms 139:7-10)

II. Our Need -praying (Romans 8:26-27)

A. The Privileges -we can 12ray:

1. Anyone (Romans 10:13) 3. Anytime (Psalms 55:17)
2. Anywhere 4. Anything

B. The Pattern (Luke 11: 1-4) -Every prayer should:

1. Address the Father -v2A -Our Father
2. Acknowledge His holiness -v2B -hallowed be thy name
3. Anticipate His kingdom -v2C -Thy kingdom come
4. Accept His provision -v3 -give us
5. Appeal for forgiveness -v4 -forgive us our sins

6.  Acclaim His sovereignty (Matthew 6:130- for this is the 

III.     His Nearness   (ICor 3:16)

A. Surrounded by Spirit -live in Spirit (Romans 8:13) 

B. Surrendered to Spirit -walk in Spirit (Romans 8:1)
