Reason We Contend for the Faith

Jude 4

Our faith concerning the Scriptures -the Saviour -the saints -sinners The church has always had false teachers trying to destroy it.

1. Described -wolves in sheep clothing

2. Destructive

3. Deceiving

I. Certain Men -God left out -ungodly (Titus 1: 16)

They have:

A. Religion No Redeemer -program no power

B. Bible No New Birth -sin no Saviour

C. Preach No Pardon -service no spirit

II. Crept In (Romans 16:18) -They will:

A. Deceive the Saints

B. Discourage the Servants

C. Destroy the Sinner

III. Condemnation (II Peter 2:1) -Listen

A. The Source -what kind of Bible -others have written before

B. The Salvation -by grace alone

C. Separation -holy living

IV. Confusion (Romans 6:1-2)

lasciviousness = wantonness -doing as you please

A. Grace Distorted -since grace covers sin, it is alright to sin

B. Grace Denied -not able to keep us

V. Contradiction (I John 4:2-3) -Deny the Lord

A. Virgin Birth

B. Vicarious Death

C. Vital Blood

D. Victorious Resurrection
