I. Way of Balaam

    A. "Way" characterizes false teachers

    II Peter 2:15 - Which have forsaken the right way and are gone

    astray.  Following the way of Balaam the son Bosar, who loved

    the wages of unrighteousness.

    B. Matthew 7:15 - Beware of false prophets which come to

         you in sheep's clothing but inwardly they are raving wolves.

II. The Error of Balaam Jude 1:11

     Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran

     greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in

     the gainsaying of Core.

    A. "Error" - He could only see the natural morality. 

        1. He reasoned that because of sin God must punish.

        2. He was ignorant of a higher morality of vicarious

            atonement, by which God could be both just and Justifier

            of believing sinners.

III. Doctrine of Balaam  Rev. 2:14

    A. Spiritually Balaamism is a teaching that never rises

         above natural reasoning.

    B. In practice it is easy world conformity.

Rev. 2:14 - But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
