"WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE MAKE UP THE BODY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST?"

TEXT: I PETER 2:9-12

INTRODUCTION:

I didn't say the Baptist body, the Methodist Body, the Lutheran body, the Catholic body, etc. , but I said, "THE BODY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. " We have in this text a pronouncement of the kind of people that make up the church of the Firstborn.

I. THEY ARE SELECTED PEOPLE VERSE # 9

(CHOSEN) Gr.=choosing one by implying that he is a favorite (Generation) because he is born from another country.

II. THEY ARE STATELY PEOPLE VERSE # 9

(ROYAL) Gr.=kingly in nature, one with a kingly nature will not have dogly actions.

A. We are Kingly born.

B. By Kingly Blood.

C. Unto Kingly Blessings.

D. With a Kingly Betrothal.

III. THEY ARE SANCTIFIED PEOPLE VERSE # 9

(HOLY) Gr.=a sacred, most holy and consecrated one. (Nation)=a foreign race with the same habits and characteristics.

IV. THEY ARE SALVAGED PEOPLE VERSE # 9

(PECULIAR) Gr.=people purchased and obtained by acquisition, not self populated.

V. THEY ARE SHEWING PEOPLE. VERSE # 9

(SHEW) Gr.=to publish good tidings as a messenger, celebrating as you go.

VI. THEY ARE SURE PEOPLE VERSE # 9

(DARKNESS INTO LIGHT) isn't that sure enough for you???????

VII. THEY ARE SPECIAL PEOPLE VERSE # 10

Not man made, machine made, but mercy made people.

VIII. THEY ARE STRANGE PEOPLE VERSE # II

The Greek implies and means here: "PEOPLE THAT ARE CAMPING OUT ON THE ROAD TO GLORY"

IX. THEY ARE A SERVING PEOPLE VERSE # 12
