"WHY DO I WAIT FOR JESUS?"

 

TEXT: I CORINTHIANS 1: 6

INTRODUCTION:

People are fulfilling Scripture every day by saying, "Where is the promise of HIS coming". People that WAIT FOR THE COMING OF JESUS seem to be old fogy and are not with the "in" crowd. People want to know "Why" wait for someone that has been gone for about 2,000 years??????? Well, I have a

special reason for waiting several of them in fact and I would like to share them with you and encourage you as GOD'S Child to wait with patience for the soon coming of our LORD and SAVIOUR.

I. IT IS MY DUTY TO WAIT FOR HIM. PS. 27:14

 

This is a duty that I thoroughly enjoy, knowing that I could see HIM right away.

II. IT IS MY DELIGHT PS. 25:5

If the president would call and say, "I'll be by your house sometime soon, I would wait with joy, so why not with JESUS, HE is far more important. I waited for my wife with great JOY, why not JESUS?????

III. IT IS MY DELIVERANCE ISAIAH 40:31

Waiting gives me strength to face trouble.

IV. IT IS MY DRIVE ! THESSALONIANS 5:1&2

I would fold up and quit if I didn't have the assurance that JESUS was coming. If in this life only we have hope, we are ruined

V. IT IS MY DRESSING UP ! JOHN 3:3

Realizing it may be today keeps me in shape and living in a way that will be acceptable to HIM at HIS appearing that I will not be ashamed at HIS COMING.
