"A
VISIT TO THE OPTICIAN"
TEXT: REVELATION 3:14-22
INTRODUCTION:
Here we have a picture of the final church age just in the end-time.
NOTICE:
I. THE CHARGE NEITHER COLD NOR HOT.
I I. THE CLAIM- VERSE # 17
III. THE COUNSEL VERSE # 18
The outstanding claim here is that "I have need of nothing", the
outstanding charge is: "Thou art blind" , and the outstanding
challenge is "Anoint thine eyes with eyesalve that thou mayest see.
"Every preacher has about the same claim for the church, "We're
doing o.k. we have good offerings, no discord, no indifference etc. , Most of
them know it's a lie but they don't want to recognize their trouble.
NOTICE:
I. THE OBSTRUCTIONS. "THOU ART
BLIND"
- Sin obstructs spiritual vision.
- Self obstructs spiritual vision.
- Satan obstructs spiritual vision.
- Society obstructs spiritual vision.
II. NOTICE THE OPTICIAN "JESUS
CHRIST"
- HE knows the need
- HE makes the diagnosis
- HE can give the correct lenses
III. THE OINTMENT EYESALVE
A. This eyesalve will help us observe the will of the FATHER.
B. This eyesalve will give us the Eyes of the HOLY SPIRIT.
C. This eyesalve will let us see the need of the world as the son saw it.
As long as a person cannot see the rut that they are in, they will never
see the need of getting out or seeking THE WAY out.
